the day began with tara getting ready at her parent’s home in oakville.  such a cute cottagy “home-y home”.  you know, the kind you can tell a family has grown up in.  mom even was cookin’ up some scrambled eggs for our sweet bride tara (with a slide of chocolate cake as is tradition in this family)!  everyone was just a buzz with excitement.

i just knew tara would have great shoes.  i could tell she had great taste and what better than a sleek pair of jimmy choo bridals?

of course gus the english bulldog had to have his own special collar.  isn’t he adorable?  stemz did an amazing job on all the flowers but this collar was a real hit!  gimme five gus…

the ceremony was so beautiful.  the flowers lining the isles made the room feel dreamlike, whimsical.  here’s tara’s dad proudly walking her down the isle.

the art gallery is just simply one of the most amazing venues in toronto to get married.  awesome architechture, inspiration everywhere, amazing views ogf the city, great staff, great food…  i could go on and on.  just look at some of the amazing shots we were able to capture with this venue:

oh i would be remiss if i didn’t mention that this wedding happen to fall on the same weekend as the big government meetings, g20.  traffic was crazy, parking was nuts but you know what?  tara & matt had great security!!!  actually tara & matt arranged for every single guest to be shuttled in by limo from an arranged meeting spot so they didn’t have to deal with any of it.  great service if you ask me!

the cloud of smoke is apparently a police car on fire.  we caught this on purpose for memory’s sake but honestly during the rest of the day none of the guests noticed anything going on other than a beautiful wedding day.

tara’s sense of style and her choice in decor was second to none.  amazing attention to detail, everything was simply perfect.  her purple theme was elegantly done with the centre pieces and linens.

she had the chandeliers brought in as well which really added class and sophistication to the room.

so here we go… up the gondola to the top of the mountain.  tayus was happy to find a rock stuck on the gondola, jomei wasn’t sure it was safe at all.

once we got to the top, what better way to get down then roll???  the boys decided it would be a great idea so off they went…

for a while we were playing lions and tigers in the grass.  life is fun when you have no place to be, no deadlines & not a care in the world.  ahhh, to be a child again eh?

that’s me back at the top of the hill, trying to round up the troops to go on our hike.  rolling down was one thing but getting them to climb back up was another!!!

now i could have just posted the one photo above – sun shining through as the kids laugh and frolic… but we show a lot of family photos that proably give the impression we have these two little angels, always on their best behavior… blah blah blah.  no way.  these guys are two rough and tumble kind of boys and honestly sometimes it feels like we are just referees!!!  ”don’t push him” and ” get off of him now” are futilely barked by yours truly a million times a day.

did you figure it out?  it was taken through a glass window, see the reflection of a roof at the top?  i think i really like how it makes you look for longer than just a second and figure out what is going on in this shot.  that, plus an a beautiful couple of course!

we are about 1/2 way through the summer and to be honest, the engagement sessions are a refreshing way to keep the summer months filled with variety.  not one is the same because each couple is so different!  our couples are so great – we really do have the best clients in the world – i am sure of this!

for any of you that know me, or just read this blog, you will know i love fashion.  i love seeing motion in fashion, i love the emotion that many fashion campaigns evoke.  i love incorporating fashion into my wedding photography.  to me, the bride is the model for the day – it is all about making her look her very best.  it is what keeps me creative and excited about wedding photography actually.  the chance to create something new each and every wedding.

so when i get to shoot fashion with real models and lighting and stylists, it is a real treat for me.  i get to slow down, enjoy the process and allow myself the time to get creative.

ines di santo is one of the most well known wedding gown designers here in toronto (and worldwide).  to photograph with her dresses is always an honor.  they are beautifully made and the textures, the fabrics, the cuts & flow of the dresses makes my job so much easier.

we welcomed our new baby girl into the world on sunday sept. 5th at 6:20am (10 days pasther due date) weighing a nice chunky 9lbs 9 oz.

what a sweet little miracle, she is perfect!!!!  10 fingers, 10 toes – i simply can’t discribe the thankfulness in my heart right now.  i feel thankful to the very core of who i am.  so much love instantly!!!

we had baby sweeter at home, with midwives – it was such an amazing experience.  alex literally helped deliver her which he discribes as one of the best moments of his life.  they instantly bonded and i have a feeling this litle girl has daddy wrapped around her finger already.

her two big brothers are just over the moon about her.  ”we have to keep her forever” tayus said.  baby sweeter, by the way, was the nickname the boys made up while she was in my tummy but after much debate, it is now her middle name.  they have yet to call her anything but baby sweeter!

our little family has grown by one and already i can’t picture life without her.  we just sat and stared at her today, exploring her face trying to decide who’s features she has.  it has been beautiful to just relax as a family, sit on the bed as the sun comes in and purposefully take it all in so as to never forget these first few days with our new baby sweeter!
